Routine dental visits every 6 months allows Dr. Nill and the team at Riverwalk Dental Care to keep an eye on your oral health, and identify potential issues like gum disease and cavities before they become severe. This saves you both time and money.
Not only that, but regular teeth cleanings help keep your teeth strong and healthy, and prevent or even reverse minor staining, keeping your smile beautiful. With proper at-home oral care and regular 6-month visits to our office, you’ll be able to keep your teeth and gums in great shape.
Fluoride treatments are done as part of a regular six-month teeth cleaning and oral exam. A thin layer of fluoride gel or paste is painted onto your teeth, left in place for a few minutes, then rinsed away.
The high level of fluoride in the gel or paste helps strengthen and remineralize your teeth by attracting minerals to the enamel. This can even reverse the first stage of tooth decay, known as “soft spots.”
Dental sealants are used to prevent cavities in the rear teeth. They consist of a thin layer of liquid resin, which is applied to each molar or premolar individually. Then, the resin is hardened into a transparent barrier using a UV light. This barrier stops decay by preventing acid, bacteria, and food particles from contacting your enamel directly.
If you have gum disease, you may need periodontal care from Dr. David Nill. For minor cases of gum disease, treatment consists of deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) to remove plaque and tartar from between your teeth and gums, and to smooth the roots of your teeth.
However, we also offer more advanced gum care at our office, including gum flap surgery and gum grafting, which may be necessary for patients with serious cases of periodontitis. Contact us today to get the help you need.
We offer oral cancer screenings as part of every 6-month oral exam at our office. Dr. Nill will look for lesions, discolored patches of tissue, and other signs of oral cancer to ensure that your mouth is healthy. In the rare event that we discover an issue that demands further investigation, you can get the help you need right away.
